The skin is the first layer of defense for our human body and not to forget the most noticeable part of our body. Have you ever wondered about how humans looked after their body or skin back in the ancient days or even if they ever did? Yes, I was curious, and was amazed by what I had discovered.

Whenever ancient comes to mind, it brings me to the land of Egypt. During my early teen days, I was determined to study about the pyramids, watching shows on discovery channel and until today even scientists aren’t sure how it was built. It truly is a wonder as it could never be replicated with today’s latest technology.

This made me dive into the Egyptians way of tending their skins five thousand years ago. To my amusement they are in fact one of the trendsetters in terms of skin products. They have used a combination of essential oils produced naturally to preserve their youthful looks and nourishes the skin. Also, importantly acting as a shield against the glaring hot Egyptian sun during the 10th Millennium BC which can reach to 50 degrees Celsius.

 We can also say in Malaysia the climate is almost similar. Jokes aside, I was hit with the idea to produce my own skin care product using natural ingredients and, in this case, essential oils as well. Not because of Malaysia’s hot weather but because more chemicals are used in skin products these days and are harming our skin and health. Have we forgotten the traditional use of many natural ingredients? It’s time to go natural.
